Parts Counter Person

Are you tired of working nights and or weekends? If so come join the team at Thomas Sales & Service Ford as a Parts Counter Person, where your role will be essential in ensuring our customers receive the right parts promptly and accurately. You will serve as a key point of contact between our customers and the service department, providing knowledgeable and friendly assistance to help support vehicle repairs and maintenance. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment in the beautiful city of Madras, OR.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating the specific parts or accessories needed for their vehicles, ensuring a smooth and positive customer experience.
• Maintain an organized and well-stocked parts inventory by accurately receiving, storing, and tracking parts shipments as they arrive.
• Use computer systems and parts catalogues to research part numbers, availability, pricing, and compatibility, providing clear and accurate information to customers and technicians.
• Process sales transactions efficiently and accurately, handling payment and generating necessary paperwork.
• Collaborate closely with service technicians and other departments to coordinate parts orders and resolve any issues related to parts availability or delivery.
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures to keep the workplace safe, clean, and compliant with industry standards.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an automotive parts environment or retail setting is preferred, but a willingness to learn and a positive attitude will also be highly valued.
• Strong communication skills to interact clearly and professionally with customers, coworkers, and vendors.
• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with inventory and sales software.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage inventory and paperwork efficiently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift parts or boxes up to 50 pounds.
• A commitment to providing outstanding customer service and supporting a team-oriented work environment.
